Brigadier General Michael Olujide Ajala was born on 11 Jun 1967 and hails from Ijero in Ekiti State. He obtained BA History from the University of Lagos and Masters in History and International Studies at the University of Ilorin. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from College of Education Ilorin. His professional memberships include; Member Nigeria Institute of International Affairs, Member Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, and also a Fellow of Institute of Security Nigeria as well as Fellow Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management. As a military officer, his awards include Force Service Star, Meritorious Service Star and Distinguished Service Star. He has served in various capacities which include; Assistant Director of Education Army Headquarters Department of Army Training and Operations; Deputy Director of Research Institute of Army Education; Deputy Director at the Directorate of Army Training Support TRADOC; and Director 7 Division Education Service. The General is a prolific writer who has contributed to several scholarly works. He is a member of Editorial Board of Journal of Nigeria Society of International Affair. He is presently the Director of Nigerian Army Military History Institute under the Nigeria Army Resource Center.
