Brigadier General Garba Sadiq Mohammed

Brigadier General Garba Sadiq Mohammed was born on 11^th September 1971 and hails from Lolo, Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.   He enlisted into Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of 43 Regular Course and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in 1996.  The senior officer has attended several academic and military courses both at home and abroad.  Garba has Bachelor of Science in Economics from Nigerian Defence Academy and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Banking and Finance from Delta State University, Abraka in 2008. The senior officer is a fellow, Certified National Accountants of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Fellow Institute of Chartered Economist and Fellow Certified Chartered System Accountant (USA) (FCCSA). The military courses he has attended are Young Officers’ Course (Infantry), Anti–Tank Platoon Commanders’ Course and Basic Airborne Course, all in the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Young Officers’ Course in Finance at NASFA Apapa, Junior Course 53/2003 and Senior Course 28/2006 at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji as well as the Commander, Division Finance Accounts Course at NASFA. General Mohammed is a member National Institute of Policy & Strategic Studies SEC 40/2018.  The senior officer also attended some civil courses which include Decision Making and Leadership Strategies in UK and Dubai.

Garba has held several appointments in the Nigerian Army. Some of these appointments include Platoon Commander, 82 Motorised Battalion Main in Bakassi Peninsula in charge of Ikang Village and the Water-Side jetty, Administrative Officer at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps. He was also the Staff Officer     Grade 3 (SO3) at Nigerian Army Finance Corps and SO 2 at Department of Budget NA, Bursar at Command Secondary School, Kaduna. Garba was the Finance Officer at the 68 Reference Hospital Yaba and Cashier at the 82 Division Finance. He was also the Data and Computer Officer at 1 Division Finance and moved to Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Restore Hope in the Niger Delta as Finance Officer. Garba was the Registrar at the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration (NASFA) and Finance Officer at Nigerian Army Infantry Corps Headquarters. The senior officer was also the Deputy Director Army Pension at the Military Pension Board and Deputy Director (DD) Army Budget at Nigerian Army Budget Department. He was also the Deputy Director at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peace Keeping Centre, Jaji and Deputy Director Army Headquarters, Department of Training and Operations. General GS Mohammed was also Commander, 82 Division Finance & Account (CDFA). He was later posted to Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) as Director of Finance (DOF). His decorations and awards include Distinguish Service Star (DSS), Meritorious Service Star (MSS), Field Command Medal of Honour (FCMH), Member National Institute (mni) and Pass Staff Course (psc). He is happily married and blessed with children. His hobbies include reading, watching good movies, walking, playing Badminton and Table Tennis.
