The Executive members of Association of Christian Lawyers Against Corruption and Human Rights Abuses in Nigeria, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Director General, Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Association, Barrister Nathan Ogwuike stated that the courtesy visit was driven in recognition of the fact that the Nigerian Army under the present leadership of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt General Tukur Yusuf Buratai believes in respect for human rights.
He expressed satisfaction over the present leadership of the Nigerian Army in reducing human rights abuses especially at the theatre of operations against insurgency. He also said the association indeed appreciates the Nigerian Army in its successful fight against insurgency in the country and would want the general public to support the Nigerian Army.

In his response, the Director General Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Maj Gen Johnny Hamakim (rtd) commended the association for standing for truth and for being objective in the fight against corruption and other human rights abuses.
Gen Hamakim thanked them particularly for identifying with the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, and generally for putting the Nigerian Army forward despite the negative perception by some members of the public. He pledged to continuously interface with the association and reach out to them in whatever way possible.
At the end of the event, the Director General Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Maj General Johnny Hamakim was presented with a plaque by members of the association as a memento of their visit.
The Association of Christian Lawyers Against Corruption and Human Rights Abuses in Nigeria is an Independent, Non–Governmental and non-profit making organization. Amongst the aims of the association is to promote good governance in Nigeria.
