The Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigeria Customs Service, Col Hameed Ibrahim Ali (rtd) has pledged to assist, support and ensure the participation of NCS officers in selected training activities/ other programmes organized by the Nigerian Army Resource Centre. This he maintained would enhance the effective capacity building of NCS officers.
He stated this recently during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the NARC led by the Director General (DG), Maj Gen GA Wahab (rtd) to the Customs Headquarters, Abuja. Furthermore, the CG affirmed that, the collaboration between the Nigerian Army and NCS has tremendously improved the level of performance of the NCS since he took over the mantle of leadership of the organization.

He stressed that the NCS is very keen to participate in the activities of the NARC. The CG reminded the delegation that the NA remains his first constituency, thus, according to him “I will be the first to advertise what the army is doing to my men and see how we can also key in for the benefit of our officers”.
Earlier in his address, the DG NARC Maj Gen Garba Wahab (rtd) briefed the CGC and his management staff on the programmes and activities of NARC. He thanked the CG for receiving them into his office despite the short notice and he was obliged to come and intimate him on the activities of the Centre.
The DG seized the opportunity of the visit, to brief the CG on the Strategic Management and Policy Studies Course (SMPSC) which is a nine months programme for senior military officers and their equivalent in Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government.
Furthermore, the DG mentioned that the SMPSC is done in collaboration with Nigerian Defence A Post Graduate Schools leading to the award of Masters Degree to successful participants.
