Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) is set to collaborate with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on training and security matters. This was made known during a courtesy visit by the Director General, Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Major General Johnny Hamakim (Retired) MFR mni to the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abdullahi Muhammadu Gana in his Abuja office.
In his opening remarks, Major General Hamakim (Rtd) explained that the purpose of the visit was to seek areas of mutual interests where both parties could collaborate especially in the area of capacity building of personnel of the NSCDC. He added that since NARC is a research based Centre, the collaboration will enable both parties to explore areas of mutual interest in this regard. The Director General informed the Commandant General about the NARC Learning Management System (LMS) which is an online training package designed for some categories of individuals and organisations. He then extended an invitation to the CG to key into the platform as one of its tenants (subscribers) to enable the NSCDC benefit from its unique service.
In his response, the Commandant General, Abdullahi Muhammadu Gana, expressed his appreciation to the DG and his team for the visit. He also thanked the DG for the assistance that the Centre has always rendered to the Corps and enjoined him to do more by way of further enhancing the existing relationship between the two organisations. The Commandant General promised to continue to partner with the NARC in order to ensure the success of the collaboration. He further expressed his hope that the visit would enable both parties to discuss and explore more areas of collaborations, hinging on the fact that both organisations have always maintained cordial relationship based mutual interests especially in the area of human resource development.
Present at the event were the Executive Director and CEO Nigerian Army Consult, Major General IM Yusuf, Directors of Training and Research, and other senior officers the Nigerian Army Resource Centre as well as senior management and staff of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
