The Management and Pupils of Capella Academy, Bwari, Abuja were on an educational visit to the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) Abuja on Thursday February 26, 2021.
According to the School Administrator who led the pupils to the Centre, Miss Faith Bolorunfe revealed that the aim of the visit was to educate and keep the pupils abreast of the activities of the Nigerian Army across the 36 states of the federation, as well as the specific roles and duties they perform to keep the country safe.
She reiterated that, the main idea behind the visit was to get the pupils informed and also appreciate the sacrifices of the Nigerian Army at a younger age. She equally, thanked the management of the Centre for the warm reception given to them and also looked forward to learning more from the Centre.
Earlier, the Director General NARC, Major General Garba Ayodeji Wahab (Rtd) in his address welcomed the staff and Pupils of Capella Academy to the Centre. He also spoke on the vision and mandate of the Centre which is to “proffer research based solutions to defence and security issues to the Nigerian Army and the nation at large”.
In a related development, the Director, Nigerian Army Museum, Brigadier General UM Babangida in his brief remark, took the Pupils down the memory lane on some historical facts about the Nigerian Army and the NA Museum.
As part of the activities of the day, the pupils later proceeded on a guided tour of the NA Museum and Gallery where they were introduced to relics and other object of historical importance. The high point of the event was the presentation of souvenir to the school administrator by the DG on behalf of the management of Capella Academy.
