The Special Guest of Honour at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) Monthly Lecture Series, Major Gen Lucky Irabor has said that threats grows, diffuses and transforms and if it transforms, the tools of yesterday might not be relevant for the management of the transformation that has happened today. “If that happens it means that the tools you are perhaps developing to handle today’s transformation might actually not be appropriate to handle the transformation of tomorrow and the future”, he said.
He stated this while reacting to questions and comments raised during the interactive session on Thursday 19 September 2019 at the 8th Nigerian Army Resource Centre Lecture Series, with the theme “EMERGING TRENDS IN THE BOKO HARAM INSURGENCY IN NIGERIA”, held at the NARC Conference Hall A, Abuja which was delivered by the former Vice-Chancellor, Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, Professor Kyari Mohammed.

In addition, he stressed that, building capacity is a continuous process and every one that may have to interrogate the management approaches must have to do that from all dimensions, and not assume that one agency is a super power that has all it takes to drive home the requirement.
Speaking while declaring the lecture series closed, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai, who was represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans Army, (COPP) LT Gen LO Adeosun appreciated the Guest Speaker for a well delivered lecture, the facilitators and other invited guests for their presence.
The COAS further stated that Nigerians should own their problem and develop ingenious ways of solving the contemporary security challenges being experienced. “We must mobilize our consciousness as a country to issues of security in Nigeria”, he said.
It is pertinent to note that the military should be appreciated for doing their best within its pace and within the limited resources available for continuous efforts towards decimating the terrorists and the insurgents.
