The Director General, Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) Major Gen GA Wahab (rtd) has said that any knowledge that cannot be utilized effectively is a wasted knowledge. He stated this on Thursday 19 September, 2019 at the NARC Conference Hall A’ during the graduation ceremony of the Nigerian Army personnel on Decision Making and Communication Skills Course 1 2019.
He also enjoined the graduands to avail themselves the opportunity given to them in the course and open their minds to new ways of making decision and communicating effectively. He equally advised them to utilize the lessons learnt from the training critically, “for every decision, there is always an implication, he said”.

In his brief remark, the Resource Person, Prof Tonnie Iredia urged the graduands to move away from the programmed decision making theory and design a new programme of discretion and initiative, so that, when new development or issues that are complex come up, they can apply the theories that they have learnt to the issues at hand. He advised them to always adopt non-programmed decision making theory which enables an operative to put his personal understanding of issues, by looking at the reality of the situation which he finds himself.
The main objective of the course is enhancing personnel’s decision making and communication skills and it is expected that the graduands will utilize these decision making and communication skills they have learnt to advance the course of the Nigerian Army in particular and the country at large.
