The Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) has played host to the public presentation of a book published by the former Chief of Army Staff and Ambassador–Designate, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai titled, “The Legend of Buratai Volume 2”. The book, which chronicles the true life story of Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai from the trenches to a legendary status, was unveiled to the public on Friday 12 March 2021 at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja.
The Legend of Buratai Volume 2 is the enthralling true life story of Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, the Former Chief of Army Staff who rose to the legendary status by dint of hard work, bravery, diligence, excellence and honesty.
His journey through life is presented as an exemplary story for all who would aspire to follow his path.
According to the book reviewer, Dr MS Abubakar, the book is fascinating with a nice mix of military tactics and important life lessons from the mind of one of the Nigeria’s most notable military strategists.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Director General NARC, Major General Ayodeji Wahab (Rtd) expressed his pleasure in welcoming every guest who graced the occasion. He said the book is a challenge and encouragement to the younger generation to develop the ability to read, write and aspire for greatness.
In the same vein, the Chairman of the occasion, Honourable Jafaru Turawa Ribadu in his opening remark expressed his delight to be invited as the Chairman of the occasion of the public presentation of the book.. He commended General Buratai’s wisdom in documenting what he considers a personal account of his journey as a military general. “I believe that the book will help the general public in understanding the critical and often selfless roles the military makes in securing and ensuring national security”, he said.
In a related development, the author and Special Guest of Honour, Ambassador-Designate, Tukur Buratai in his remark, took the guests down the memory lane in his own words. The former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) charged the younger generation on the need to be humble, respectful and obedient to the elders and superiors in society.
He further emphasized the need for one to be tough, firm and fearless to succeed in life, using his experience and the fierce nature of a snake as a case study. He also expressed his appreciation to the virtual Guest Speaker from the United Kingdom, Right Honuarable George Galloway for his indepth and thought-provoking lecture.
Additionally, the Chairman of the occasion Honorable Jafaru Turawa, the book reviewer Dr MS Abubakar, the book presenter Mrs Nkeriruka Nwafor, DG NARC Major General Ayodeji Wahab (Rtd) and other guests who graced the occasion were not left out in his roll call of appreciation.
The climax of the occasion was the unveiling of the book “The Legend of Buratai” and the investiture of the Grand Patron of National Association of Online Security Reporters (NAOSRE) on the former Chief of Army Staff.
