As part of the curriculum, which requires interface and interaction with heads of strategic and research institutions, experts and intellectuals in leadership, security and strategic studies, a team of some Post Graduate students of Baze University Abuja on Wednesday, 30 March 2022, visited Major General Ayodeji Wahab (rtd), Director General, Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), Abuja.
The Team Leader, Doctor Tanko Ahmed, fwc, said the visit was a study visit and the students to interact with the Director-General on current global and national security issues. He commended the Director-General for his exemplary leadership and for making the NARC one of the foremost research centres in the country. He further commented on the Centre for its efforts in research and professionalism as manifested in the quality of its products and analysing trending issues on defence and security, critical thinking and proffering solutions for the Nigerian Army and policymakers.
In his welcome address, the Director-General thanked Dr Tanko Ahmed and his team for showing interest and identifying with the NARC that warranted the study visit. He went further to discuss with the students on various issues. He also challenged them to think outside the box. He advised further Nigerians should look inwards and not rely on any nation to solve the current security challenges, and they should be in the vanguard of searching for solutions. The DG also briefed them on the activities of the NARC.
The students had a robust interactive session with the DG where they asked questions on various issues, ranging from security, economy and foreign policy, amongst others.
Present at the occasion were Brigadier General Ferdinand Eze (Rtd), Consultant Information Communications and Technology and the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations Officer, Major Felicia Daniel.
