The Director General (DG) of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) Maj Gen Johnny Hamakim (rtd) has advised the officers and soldiers of the Centre to actively participate in the 3-day Retreat conceptualized to move NARC forward.
This was made known by the DG during the opening ceremony of the retreat organized for the Officers, Soldiers and the Civilian staff of the Centre by NARC Consult. He advised all the participants to take the retreat seriously because the knowledge gained will be useful to them in their future endeavors.
Maj Gen Hamakim said further that he has confidence in the capacity of the organizers and Resource Persons that something tangible will come out of the 3-day retreat. He congratulated the Executive Director NA Consult, Maj Gen IM Yusuf for the initiative and enjoined all the participants to work towards taking the Centre to an enviable height.

According to the DG, the theme of the retreat was “Strategy Plan to Reposition the Nigerian Army Resource Centre for Effective Service Delivery”. He said the retreat was designed to broaden the knowledge of participants on strategy formulation, streamlining of responsibilities, and engendering cooperation amongst the staff. Others were formulation of a workable strategy, development of road map and proffering strategic direction for NARC to actualize its mandate.
In his presentation the Resource Person, Mr Mike Amanyi who delivered a lecture on Strategy Conceptualization and Formulation said the retreat will dovetail into a clear cut direction for NARC as a Think-Tank to proffer solutions to Defence and Security problems in Nigeria.
He posited that one of the reasons many visions and missions are not accomplished in organizations is that, the core values are not taken into consideration because it can be evaluated and even changed where possible.
The retreat also witnessed the presentation by Mr Patrick Ajunwa another Resource Person from Riterac Consulting Nigeria Ltd, who delivered a lecture on ‘Executive Operations’. He said Executive Operations Excellence is the cornerstone of successful Corporate Organizations or Institutions. The Retreat ended with the production of a strategy plan for the Centre using the cascade system.
Present at the retreat were the Executive Director NA Consult, Maj Gen IM Yusuf, senior officers, officers, soldiers and the civilian staff of the Centre.
