The Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), Abuja held the Monday edition of the Weekly Subject Experts’ Briefing at Hall D, ML Agwai Block, NARC, Abuja. Presentations were made by three Subject Experts.
The first presentation was by Brigadier General SN Eze, Subject Expert on the State of Israel and Islamic Republic of Iran. In his analysis, Brigadier General SN Eze noted the values which the Iran had been able to derive from diversifying its export streams to include non oil source. Iran’s success in this aspect was contrasted with Nigeria’s near total reliance on oil and the security implications of this overreliance. He made recommendations for Nigeria.
The second presentation was by Brigadier General CA Ovbude, Subject Expert for North Africa and Turkey. In his presentation, Brigadier General CA Ovbude highlighted the economic and strategic benefits of the partnership between the two countries while also pointing out the significance of Phosphate for good and nefarious purposes. He further considered Nigeria’s fertiliser market, highlighting the dangers and benefits of increased production and the need for monitoring of this vital resource.
The final presentation of the day was made by Major General KO Ogundele (Rtd), Subject Expert on China. In this presentation the general emphasized the need for an overhaul of the Nigerian education system. The need for diversification in Nigeria’s education system was highlighted. He made analysis and lessons for Nigeria as well as recommendations
