The Students of the Strategic Management and Policy Studies Course (SMPSC) 2/19 have recently embarked on tour of factories in Nigeria as part of the requirements for successful completion of the course.
The course which assembled on 17 Sep 19 is the second of its kind in the series for Senior Officers of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, other security and intelligence agencies as well as Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government. Thus, the tour is part of the requirements by the National University Commission and NDA Postgraduate School for the completion of the programme.
The course participants embarked on a local study tour to Nasarawa, Delta and Anambra States from 27 February to 6 March 2020.The study tour involved visit to strategic industries deliberately selected in line with the thematic areas of policy, management and entrepreneurship.The theme is “The Role of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) for Sustainable Development” also guided the objectives of the study tour.

The main purpose of the study tour was to enable the participants bridge the gap between theory and practice which would aid in the completion of the course content. The intent was to also ignite the desire of participants towards entrepreneurship which was successfully achieved and aroused their interests in other lines of security factors for improving national security. In order to ensure a hitch free tour, successive consultations and liaisons were conducted with the identified companies and farms as well as military units within the general areas.
