The Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), Abuja today, held the Wednesday edition of the Weekly Subject Experts’ Briefing after the Easter break at Hall B, TY Buratai Block, NARC, Abuja. Two Subject Experts assigned to cover North Africa and Turkey and China made briefings on some of the current happenings in their respective areas of expertise.
The first presentation was by Brigadier General CA Ovbude, Subject Expert on North Africa and Turkey. The presentation centred on the prevailing rise in drug ttrafficking and consumption. The presentation addressed the issues of drug use and the attendant issues within the Nigerian Army and the general populace. Security implications and security solutions were proffered after robust discussions.
The second and final presentation was made by Major General KO Ogundele (Rtd), Subject Expert on China. Major General KO Ogundele (rtd) considered the rising pressure on the Nigeria Police, military and paramilitary agencies and suggested innovative ways of alleviating the pressure while also raising the question of greater civilian effort and involvement in the process of personal and national security.
Present at the briefing were the Executive Director Consult, NARC Abuja, Major General JGK Myam, Director of Research, Professor CBN Ogbogbo and other management staff, Senior Research Fellows and Research Fellows, Consultants, senior officers, and other staff of the Centre.
