“For every promotion there is always the need to be proactive in order to meet the demands of new rank,” says Major General Garba Ayodeji Wahab (Rtd), the Director General, Nigerian Army Resource Centre.
The Director General further encouraged the newly decorated Officer to brace up to the responsibilities and challenges that would naturally come with his new rank.
He stated this during the decoration ceremony of Captain Peter Chukwuma Onyema who is a participant of IC3 Course at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre that was promoted to the rank of a Major in the Nigerian Army.
Earlier in his remark, the Director, Human Resource Development, Brigadier General Uwem Bassey, congratulated the officer and stressed that promotion comes from God. He also adviced him to work hard and be accountable in discharging his responsibilities.
Also, in his remarks, a Senior Research Fellows in the Centre, Major General Fakrogha Preye stated that every good thing comes from God. He urged the celebrant to be more mature in handling the affairs of his subordinates. He further encouraged the promoted officer to be proactive in discharging his responsibilities.
In his vote of thanks, Major Peter Chukwuma Onyeama stated that, promotion couldn’t have been possible without the grace of the Almighty God. He also thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai for finding him worthy of promotion. He also thanked the DG NARC for finding time out of his busy schedule to decorate him with his new rank.
Present during the ceremony were the Senior Research Fellows, Directors, Subject Experts, Senior officers both serving and retired, soldiers, civilian staff of the Centre, his course mates and family of the celebrant.
